The reason is Accreditation's Real Cost (and Value) in the USA. Much has been made in recent months by higher education and political leaders about how the costs to institutions of federal regulation are driving up the price of colleges and universities.
A 2015 report (https://news.vanderbilt.edu/files/2015-VU-CRC-Summary.pdf) from Vanderbilt University and the Boston Consulting Group claims that premier institutions spend about $3 billion for regional accreditation. This figure -- based on approximating accreditation costs as a percentage of the overall costs of regulation at 13 institutions and other industry wide data -- seems designed to reach a similar conclusion as an earlier report released by an influential Senate committee: that the cost of accreditation is unusually high.
The previous report claimed that Vanderbilt University’s College of Art and Sciences devotes more than 5,000 hours annually, at a cost of about $2.92 million, to report to its regional accreditor. The earlier study also included data gathered by Duke University asserting that the cost of accreditation in faculty and staff time over the last few years has been about $1.5 million. This is in addition to the $500,000 the university spends each year to manage required reporting related to academic assessment and other matters.
A 2012 doctoral dissertation project conducted by Paul Woolston Jr. at the University of Southern California looked at the average cost for institutions seeking to reaffirm their accreditation through three of the six regional accreditation agencies. Woolston found that the average cost -- including both direct and indirect costs -- was $327,254.
Unaccredited institutions of higher education are colleges, trade schools, seminaries, and universities which do not have formal educational accreditation by officially recognized educational accrediting bodies or qualified government agencies.
Educational institutions may not be legally required to obtain independent accreditation, depending on local laws. Academic degrees or other qualifications from such unaccredited institutions may or may not be accepted by civil service or other employers, depending on the local laws, the institution's reputation, and the industry standards.
An institution may not obtain or maintain accreditation for one of several reasons. Besides the cost of property, there are additional costs incurred towards payments made for services rendered by real estate agents and lawyers, registration fees, construction of classrooms and offices, and overall maintenance. Not to mention variable overheads like property tax, faculty remuneration, utility bills, payments towards janitorial services, landscaping, maintenance of equipment, and the material and manpower required to tackle it. These can run into the millions of dollars depending on the size and strength of the university, which is then passed on to the students. It is up to the student to make arrangements for the required training in hospitals, etc. Apart from online reading content, there are videos by expert faculty to complement the curriculum, where available. We strongly suggest the doctor to make arrangements in the concerned department of accredited training hospitals for training in OPD, IPD, ICU, and other relevant areas, prior to applying to RMU.

Degree Examination for Self-Education makes it possible to obtain a degree with grade sheets, without attending a regular college or university by passing the examination administered by RMU and IICUT.
If the student passes the RMU’s Higher Educational Examinations for Self-Taught Students - HEE examination, Degrees with grade sheets are conferred by our network universities on the recommendation of our Self-taught Examination Committee on the student.
